Job Brief

In this role, you will be part of a team of passionate, extremely driven, and team oriented individuals. You will be reporting to the CEO and collaborating closely with our entire team.
The core objectives for the role is to lead ATOBA in making offtake agreements with both the airlines and the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) producers, creating and owning the playbook for how we go-to-market and execute the deals.

Who are we ?
ATOBA energy is on a path to becoming the new power house of sustainable aviation fuel.
We aggregate SAF from the best technologies and the greatest projects to deliver long-term contracts at optimized market pricing, tailored to meet the distinct needs of both producers and airlines.
The problem you will solve with us:
Currently, the SAF market is facing challenges in expanding at the rate demanded by environmental needs and regulatory mandates. Producers need long-term, stable pricing contracts to amortize their investments, while airlines seek assurance of optimum market prices to a benchmark index and mitigated technology and execution risks. This conflict of expectations does not enable SAF production projects to be financed and built. If we don’t solve this issue, we will never reach our climate goals for which aviation needs to ramp up from a $2B of SAF market in 2025 to a forecasted $400B+ market in 2050.
We are the midstream Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) reseller and investor that provides to airlines and jet fuel providers long-term SAF contracts to optimized market pricing indexes thanks to demand and supply aggregation. By doing so we solve the financial dilemma between the airline and the new technology SAF producers, and unlock the SAF production scaling that aviation needs to meet its decarbonization targets.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial Director of Sustainable Aviation Fuel Business Development Europe. Why entrepreneurial you may ask? Because the market is nascent and growth is required both on airlines, producers, and midstream players. Your versatility to apprehend and transform the complex energy financing challenges into concrete and achievable long term commitments is the key to our success.
What You Will Do

Grow and manage the company’s strategic European go-to-market framework.

Build a pipeline of airlines customers and producers and define strategies on how to serve them best.

Work with our internal stakeholders to define pricing models, indices, risk management strategies for our customers.

Negotiate commercial MOUs, Termsheets, and offtake agreements with both airlines and producers, in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Represent ATOBA at industry conferences and events, position yourself as a thought leader in sustainable aviation fuel.
Who You Are

Passion for sustainability and complex problem solving

You have a deep network in all the European airlines fuel procurement teams.

You know how an airline procures its fuel and their key decision criteria

Minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated track record of successful business development and contract negotiations in both sustainable aviation fuel and jet fuel.

Good knowledge of sustainable aviation fuel technologies, customer requirements, incentives, and regulations.

Strong collaboration skills with ability to thrive in complex environments with multiple stakeholders and work across multi-functional teams in different timezones.

Strong presentation and communication skills

Excitement about getting out into the field and traveling to events and customer visits, up to 50% travel
